LSCs- HOST A CAMP!
MOTIVATE & EDUCATE
USA Swimming provides educational and motivational materials to run camps in the Local Swimming Committee. Four levels have been developed in the LSC “Catch the Spirit” Camps. Each “Catch the Spirit” Camp is designed as a combination of education sessions, social opportunities and water activities.
NATIONAL SELECT CAMPS
A ONCE-IN-LIFETIME CAMP EXPERIENCE
Each fall, USA Swimming brings 60 of the top USA Swimming member athletes in the nation for a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience. Swimmers are selected from the SWIMS database of top times. During the camp, these swimmers will learn about post race recovery, drug and supplement rules, psychological training skills, nutrition, race strategy and more.
DIVERSITY SELECT CAMPS
AN ATMOSPHERE OF INCLUSION
Each spring, USA Swimming invites 36 athletes from under-represented populations to participate in a three-day camp program which includes pool training, motivational and education sessions and team-building activities. Selection is based on times swum at USA Swimming-sanctioned events.
ZONE SELECT CAMPS
A MOTIVATIONAL EXPERIENCE
In an effort to identify and develop the top talent across the nation, USA Swimming holds four annual Zone Select Camps. These camps are opportunities for teenage swimmers to take their athletic career to the next level through an intense weekend of training, education and fun.
OPEN WATER SELECT CAMP
TRANSITIONING FROM THE POOL TO OPEN WATER
USA Swimming offers 24 of the country's best distance swimmers the opportunity for a unique motivational and educational experience. The National Open Water Camp is an intergral step for athletes to move from the pool to Open Water and then to the international scene.
Train Where Champions are Made
USA Swimming Clubs and LSC All-Star groups have the opportunity to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs (6350 ft. elevation). When space is available, the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs provides housing, meals and a 50 meter pool to qualified swim teams and their coaches.
