Have you thought about or considered organizing a fundraiser to support the mission and goals of the USA Swimming Foundation?
If your answer is an enthusiastic "YES!" then you’ve come to the right place!
What is the USA Swimming Foundation?
The USA Swimming Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming. Established in 2004, the Foundation works to strengthen the sport by saving lives and building champions—in the pool and in life. Whether we’re equipping our children with the life-saving skill of learn-to-swim through our Make a Splash initiative, or providing financial support to our heroes on the U.S. National Team, the USA Swimming Foundation aims to provide the wonderful experience of swimming to kids at all levels across the country.
Contributions made through third party events and activities for the benefit of the USA Swimming Foundation will be directed to the area of greatest need and will:
- Save lives through Make a Splash, our national child-focused water safety initiative.
- Build champions by providing funding to the U.S. National Swim Team athletes and coaches.
What is a “Third Party” event?
An event organized by an individual, community group or company that is not an official USA Swimming Foundation activity is considered to be a “third party” event. Acting independently and with the USA Swimming Foundation’s approval, third party events are an important resource for raising funds to help us support our mission.
Although the Foundation actively encourages third party fundraising events, we must approve all events in advance. The Foundation reserves the right to decline affiliation with events. This is an important safeguard in preserving the integrity of the name and reputation of the Foundation, as well as our commitment to donors.
By taking on a third party project, one assumes the responsibility of creating a successful event without assistance from the USA Swimming Foundation. It is important we reserve Foundation resources for scheduled Foundation events and fundraising efforts—for which we carefully budget and depend on for reliable annual revenue.
Special events and fundraising efforts conducted to benefit the USA Swimming Foundation should be run by organizations or individuals that are financially responsible, of well-established reputation and motivated by a genuine desire to assist the goals and mission of the USA Swimming Foundation.
