2014 Golden Goggle Awards - A memorable evening
Olympic gold medalist and world record-holder Katie Ledecky capped her memorable 2014 season by claiming Female Athlete of the Year, Female Race of the Year and Relay Performance of the Year on Monday, November 24th at the the 2014 USA Swimming Golden Goggle Awards in New York City.
This year's event, emceed by TODAY hosts Matt Lauer and Al Roker and featuring a performance by STOMP, celebrated the accomplishments of the U.S. team at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, where the Americans topped the medal table with 43 medals (16 gold, 13 silver, 14 bronze).

• Female Athlete of the Year: Katie Ledecky
• Male Athlete of the Year: Michael Phelps
• Female Race of the Year: Katie Ledecky, 1500m Free (Pan Pacific
• Male Race of the Year: Connor Jaeger, 1500m Free (Pan Pacific Championships)
• Relay Performance of the Year: Women’s 4x200m Free Relay (Pan Pacific
Championships: Shannon Vreeland, Missy Franklin, Leah Smith, Katie Ledecky)
• Coach of the Year: Bruce Gemmell
• Breakout Performer of the Year: Maya DiRado
• Perseverance Award: Open Water Gold Medalists – Haley Anderson and Andrew
The USA Swimming Foundation's 2014 Silent Auction featured an incredible array of one-of-a-kind autographed items and fabulous unique experiences with the likes of Rowdy Gaines and Conor Dwyer. Thanks to the generosity of our bidders, this year's auction grossed an amazing $87,000, surpassing our fundraising goal by $47,000!
Since its inception in 2004, the Golden Goggle Awards has generated more than $2.3 million dollars to support the USA Swimming Foundation's mission of saving lives and building champions―in the pool and in life.

Golden Goggle Awards Supports the USA Swimming Foundation
The annual Golden Goggle Awards not only honors and celebrates our U.S. National Swim Team, it serves as an important fundraiser for the USA Swimming Foundation. Proceeds from this event benefit the USA Swimming Foundation's mission to save lives and build champions—in the pool and in life.
Since its inception in 2004, the Golden Goggle Awards have provided over $2.3 million dollars in funding to the USA Swimming Foundation who uses these resources to help grow and sustain their Make a Splash initiative and provide important financial support to the U.S. National Swim Team. Additionally, the USA Swimming Foundation's Silent Auction, held in conjunction with the Golden Goggle Awards, has generated over $247,000 in the past three years!
Our sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported the Golden Goggle Awards and the Silent Auction over the last decade. Your participation has helped the USA Swimming Foundation make a powerful impact in the lives of individuals, and in swimming communities throughout our country!
