Summer Sanders, Mel Stewart Alumni Social March 23(Med)March 2013
The USA Swimming Foundation hosted informal socials during the Women's and Men's NCCAs in Indianapolis. Serving as special guest and host for our March 23rd social was Olympic medalist Summer Sanders. Nathan Adrian took on the role of special guest of the Foundation on March 30th. The NCAA championship venue provided us with a terrific opportunity to gather our U.S. National Team Alumni, Champions Club members, supporters, friends and swim fans to meet our special guests and to learn about the important work, mission and goals of the USA Swimming Foundation. National Team Director Frank Busch made a special appearance at both of the events, filling the crowd in on the latest athlete news and happenings. Food and fun flowed freely while swim fans were given the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with Summer, Nathan and additional Olympians who stopped in to say hello, sign autographs and take photos with the crowd.

A Sea of Blue at House of Delegates

On Saturday, September 15, nearly 600 USA Swimming members attended the USAS Convention House of Delegates Meeting, and donned official USA Swimming Foundation t-shirts to show their support of the Foundation's efforts to build champions—in the pool and in life.

This year’s commemorative t-shirt celebrated the champions of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team, proudly displaying the medal count from this year’s Olympic Games.

As USA Swimming Executive Director Chuck Wielgus shared in his State of the Sport Address, the athletes that comprised this year’s team were among the most decorated ever.  In fact, if the U.S. Swim Team were a country, its 31 medals would place it in the top ten of all countries that participated in the London Olympic Games.  The USA Swimming Foundation is honored to support the extraordinary efforts of our country’s swimmers by providing nearly $500,000 in financial support during this Olympic year.

Thanks to everyone who helped us create a SEA OF BLUE at this year’s convention!
