Olympic Gold Medalist Tyler Clary Headlines Fighting Irish Swim Clinic
U.S. Olympic gold medalist Tyler Clary (Riverside, Calif.) will headline the third-annual Fighting Irish Swim Clinic at Rolfs Aquatic Center on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET.
The swim clinic, which is held in conjunction with Coaches vs. Cancer, will donate all proceeds to the wellness center at South Bend’s RiverBend Cancer Services.
“I'm honored to be a part of such a prestigious event,” said Clary. “A goal of mine since I started swimming professionally has been to inspire the youth while giving back to the sport that has allowed me to be where I am today. I'm grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the University of Notre Dame and Coaches vs. Cancer.”
The three-hour backstroke clinic will be for all swimmers ages 8-18 covering starts, turns, stroke technique and finishes. Clary will also do a Q&A and talk about the importance of goal setting before ending his appearance with a photograph and autograph session.
The event is open to the media.
Clary’s appearance at the Fighting Irish Swim Clinic is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity.
