Americans Wrap Up Second Night in Beijing
Team USA continued its hot streak and finished the night off right in Beijing. Michael Klueh touched first in the men’s 1500m freestyle and finished almost eight seconds ahead of the field in a time of 14:39.12. Klueh also swam the 200m freestyle, grabbing seventh in a time of 1:47.62.
Anthony Ervin placed second in the 50m free after a tight race with Trinidad’s George Bovell. Ervin finished with a time of 21.19. Teammate Sean Mahoney swam the 100m breaststroke, finishing fourth with a time of 58.89.
On the women’s side, Jessica Hardy placed second in the 100m breaststroke, just missing first by mere hundredths of a second and touching the wall in 30.53.
This concludes the sixth stop of the FINA World Cup.Participants will move on to compete in Tokyo, beginning November 6.
