This camp is designed for the top USA Swimming member athletes in the nation to have a once-in-a-lifetime camp experience. Swimmers are selected from the SWIMS database of top times. During the camp, these swimmers will learn about post race recovery, drug and supplement rules, psychological training skills, nutrition, race strategy and more.
The 2024 National Select Camp will be held on January 9-12, 2025 (Boys) and January 23-26, 2025 (Girls) at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. The 2024 National Select Camps will be held in January 2025 due to the quadrennial pool closure for maintenance after each Games at the OPTC. This does not affect the selection procedure.
52 male and 52 female athletes shall be selected to participate in each camp. 42 athletes from each competition category shall be selected following the September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024 qualifying period based on long course meter performances in the USA Swimming SWIMS database. The fastest three eligible athletes in each Olympic event will be invited. Doubles will be resolved by placing the athlete in his/her highest HY-tek power point event. Additionally, 6 female athletes age 14-15 and the 6 male athletes age 15-16 with the highest individual IMX Power Point scores, who were not previously selected for an individual event, will be invited. Four athletes will be selected based on their performance at the Junior National Open Water Championships. Male and female camps will be held separately.
