Currently coaching at Nation’s Capital Swimming (NCAP) in Washington, DC, Bruce has been involved with USA Swimming (previously Amateur Athletic Union) as a swimmer, coach and parent for over 50 years.
A graduate of the University of Michigan
(Ann Arbor, MI) with undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, Bruce enjoyed a 20+ year career as an engineering manager and industry consultant with multiple companies before becoming a USA Swimming coach full-time. Since becoming a full-time
coach, he has been named to numerous USA Swimming international staffs and camps including the 2013 and 2015 FINA World Championships, the 2016 Olympic Games, and the 2017 and 2019 FINA Junior World Championships. USA Swimming and American Swimming Coaches
Association (ASCA) both named him Coach of the Year in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Bruce is a member of USA Swimming’s Open Water Steering Committee and is Committee Chair of USA Swimming’s National Team Steering Committee.
