USA Swimming is migrating historical SWIMS data into the new database. Clubs will still have access to historical USA Swimming ID numbers and other member data until the member renews their registration through Online Member Registration. Members/Parents will also have the ability to create an Account prior to registering in order to access member cards and other member benefits.

If an LSC opted in to the LSC fee collection during checkout, how will they handle varying fee structures (E.g. my LSC doesn’t charge an LSC fee for non-athlete members)?

During LSC Offering set-up, your LSC will be able to set a fee by membership type. For memberships that don’t have a fee, the LSC can simply set that fee to $0.

Will there be reporting to help LSCs track transactions?

Transaction reporting will be similar to what LSC registrars are familiar with in the current SWIMS environment.

With registration fees being collected at checkout, will LSCs be required to approve registrations?

LSC registrars will still be able but are not required to approve registrations, but only for tracking purposes. Once a member registers and pays, they are a member in the database, regardless of the LSC approval.

Why are you letting clubs/coaches upload meet results?

Allowing clubs to upload meet results will drastically increase the speed in which results hit our database. One of the most common complaints USA Swimming receives centers around the delays in meet results hitting the times database. Although clubs can enter results into SWIMS, LSCs Admins are still the only ones who can edit meet results. Results can only be uploaded for meets that have already been created and approved by the LSC Times Admin. LSC Times Admins will also have access to upload all meet results for meets hosted within their LSC.

Will there be mass communication capabilities with SWIMS 3.0?

There will not be mass communication tools included as part of the initial launch of SWIMS 3.0. SWIMS 3.0 will be capable of sending automated emails, but only to alert members of expiring certifications and memberships. It will not have the ability to be used as a marketing communication tool. LSCs will still need an Email Service Provider, like MailChimp or Constant Contact, for mass communications. SWIMS 3.0 will have reporting that will allow you to pull the contact information for your members and import it into a third-party email service provider.
