Dan Clough is a Managing Director and consulting leader at Deloitte, LLP where he helps executives of large, complex organizations set business and technology strategy, get better use of data and analytics to make decisions, and speed adoption of digital technology. Dan also leverages his former legal and lobbying roles to help clients navigate the contractual, policy, and legislative environment impacting business.
Throughout his non-profit aquatics career, Dan has served as a swim parent, USA Club President, Official, and LSC Board member. In his roles on deck, Dan has served as an Official, Starter, and Meet Referee where he has had the pleasure of leading meets ranging from small dual competitions to major regional OQM championships. Through this experience, Dan has enjoyed partnering with hundreds of USA coaches and clubs to create a safe, fair and positive environment for our USA swimmers to compete. In the role as Vice Chair of Operations for his LSC, Dan oversaw Officials, Operational Risk and DEI. Through this role, Dan helped lead dialogue with state governments to open water during Covid-19, supported grant and mentoring programs to invest in athletes and coaches, and leveraged USA Swimming data to help develop a new DEI strategy for the LSC.
When asked about the one area that defines his passion for USA Swimming, Dan points to those roles that have allowed him to support greater aquatics access and opportunity in communities. To support this mission in his own region, Dan serves as a board member of SwimHershey, a 501c3 organization focused on providing aquatics education, access and opportunity in central Pennsylvania. In this role, Dan oversees Design, Programming and Partnerships for a planned 50M facility in Hershey, PA where he has enjoyed forging strategic partnerships with major corporations, industry partners and governing bodies, and creating community-based agreements to help ensure access to all youth in the region. Through this work, Dan is also proud to sponsor one of our own USA Swimming National Team Olympians!
Dan and his Wife Emily live in Hershey, PA and their two kids Caroline and Colin attend universities in the Washington DC area. Colin has chosen to continue his swimming career at American University.
