2018 Junior Pan Pacs Head Coaches Allison Beebe and Dan Flack

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Swimming today announced that Allison Beebe of Santa Clara Swim Club and Dan Flack of Baylor Swim Club have been named the United States’ head coaches for the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, slated for Aug. 23-27 in Fiji.

Beebe, who will serve as the women’s head coach, has served on multiple National Junior Team staffs, including the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. Prior to joining Santa Clara Swim Club, Beebe coached Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel as an age-grouper with First Colony Swim Team.

“Allison brings a wealth of experience to this team. Through her amazing work with Simone, she knows firsthand what it takes for an athlete to be successful internationally as a high schooler. She guided Simone through her progression from 2012 Junior Pan Pacs to the 2013 FINA World Championships team,” USA Swimming National Junior Team Director Mitch Dalton said. “Allison will be an asset to our Junior Pan Pac athletes, as she knows what it takes to get the job done in Fiji.”

The men’s head coach in Fiji, Flack was most recently an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships in Indianapolis. He has served on a number of staffs for the National Junior Team.

“Dan is ready and able to take on the role of head coach,” Dalton added. “Besides his outstanding work with Trey Freeman over the last few seasons, his name has been a staple on the National Junior Team coaches roster for the better part of a decade.”

The U.S. selection meet for the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships will be the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine, California, from July 25-29. Complete selection procedures are available here.

The Junior Pan Pacific Championships have consistently proven to be a springboard for international success. 2016 Olympic medalists Townley Haas, Lilly King and Blake Pieroni were members of the U.S. roster for the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
