U.S. National Teamers Open NCAAs with Win for Stanford

U.S. National Team members Katie Drabot, Ella Eastin, Brooke Forde and Katie Ledecky of Stanford University won the women’s 800-yard freestyle relay Wednesday to kick off the NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship in Columbus, Ohio. Their time of 6:46.93 was a pool record. They finished ahead of the rest of the field by more than three seconds, but missed the U.S. Open, American, NCAA and meet record set last year by Stanford by about a second.
Finishing second was Michigan in 6:50.03, followed by the University of California in 6:50.83.
