INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Olympic champions Nathan Adrian (Bremerton, Wash./California Aquatics), Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md./Stanford Swimming) and Simone Manuel (Sugar Land, Texas/Stanford Swimming) all earned victories Friday at the TYR Pro Swim Series at Indianapolis at the Indiana University Natatorium.

Adrian and Manuel won the men’s and women’s 50-meter freestyles in 21.97 seconds and 24.59, respectively. Adrian’s win was his second victory of the meet after taking the 100m free title on Thursday.

“I thought I did a good job of the way I approached it and that’s what we use these meets for is honing in on how we’re going to approach the race,” Adrian said. “Playing around and experimenting is also what makes it fun so we’re doing a little bit of that – just doing our best to not let it get stale. It’s a long quad, especially as I’m getting a little older. Right now, I’m really happy where we are.”

Ledecky won for the third straight night, taking the women’s 200m free in 1:55.42 ahead of her teammate Manuel, who was second in 1:58.06. Ledecky was third earlier in the session in the women’s 400m IM in 4:38.43.

Fellow Olympian Melanie Margalis (Clearwater, Fla./St. Petersburg Aquatics) picked up her second win in Indianapolis in the women’s 400m IM in 4:36.81.

Chase Kalisz (Bel Aid, Md./Athens Bulldog Swim Club) won the men’s 400m IM 4:10.55, Jacob Pebley (Corvallis, Ore./California Aquatics) took the men’s 200m back in 1:57.03 and Blake Pieroni (Valparaiso, Ind./Indiana Swim Team) earned the victory in the men’s 200m free in 1:48.19.

Canada’s Taylor Ruck picked up her second win of the meet in the women’s 200m back in 2:08.11.

The four-day meet concludes Saturday with 10 a.m. EDT prelims and finals at 7 p.m. EDT.

Coverage of each finals sessions will be available on various NBC Sports platforms, including live coverage on NBC Sports Network on Saturday at 7 p.m. EDT.
