USA Swimming announced today the names of the up-and-coming athletes selected for the Zone Select Performance Workshop and Regional Diversity Performance Workshop. To continue providing opportunities for our athletes at the age-group level, these workshops allow for a unique motivational experience while attending in the comfort of their own homes. Individuals selected for these Performance Workshops have been contacted directly.

The Zone Select Performance Workshop roster was selected automatically through the SWIMS database. Each zone’s workshop will consist of the top swimmers in each zone based on the 2019 and 2020 LCM seasons combined.

Participants will hear from two organizations: Growing Leaders and More Brave. Both organizations have extensive experience working with student athletes and providing leadership training.

290 different clubs from 49 LSCs will be represented.

Athletes for the Regional Diversity Performance Workshop roster were selected though an online application. 71 different clubs from 33 LSCs will be represented. To qualify for this workshop, athletes must have achieved at least one Regional Diversity Select Camp time standard. The goals of this workshop are to empower athletes from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented populations to:

  • Achieve performance excellence at every level of the sport.
  • Expound the benefits and value of participating in the sport of swimming.
  • Be positive leaders and role models that others from multicultural backgrounds can emulate.

Congratulations to all athletes who have been selected to attend the Zone Select Performance Workshop and the Regional Diversity Performance Workshop.
