USA Swimming Foundation and SwimWays

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –

The USA Swimming Foundation, the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming, today announced a multi-year agreement with SwimWays, a leading pool float, water toy, and swim gear brand.

Owned by Spin Master, a leading global children’s entertainment company, SwimWays is focused on developing programs and products that help parents take their children safely from water introduction to swimming independently.  SwimWays has been a supporter of the USA Swimming Foundation throughout the years and will now serve as an official sponsor of the USA Swimming Foundation through 2025.

SwimWays has been an amazing supporter of the USA Swimming Foundation and we’re so proud to partner with them once again,” said Elaine Calip, Senior Director of Development for USA Swimming. “Their commitment to promoting the fun and importance of learning to swim makes them an ideal partner in helping further the Foundation’s mission of saving lives, building champions and impacting communities.”

As part of the collaboration, SwimWays will feature the USA Swimming Foundation logo on a select series of learn-to-swim aids from their Swim Confidence line including the Baby Spring Floats, Sun Canopy Baby Boats, U.S. Coast Guard-approved Swim Trainer personal flotation devices (PFD), and PFD Life Jackets. All products will also include safety messaging with water safety tips and links for finding local learn-to-swim programs.

SwimWays and the USA Swimming Foundation share a dedication to both swim safety and learn to swim efforts,” said Adam Hyman, Spin Master’s VP of Marketing and Global Business Unit Lead for SwimWays. “By joining forces, we aim to amplify this message and ensure parents feel confident taking their children safely from supervised water introduction to swimming confidently with the help of high-quality products and safety-focused gear.”

The USA Swimming Foundation and SwimWays will also continue to support the annual International Learn to Swim Day™, a campaign that raises awareness about the critical need for teaching children to swim. In years past, Olympians and USA Swimming Foundation ambassadors Elizabeth Beisel and Rowdy Gaines have worked to promote water safety throughout May and beyond.

According to a 2017 study completed by the USA Swimming Foundation, 64% of Black children, 45% of Hispanic or Latino children, and 40% of white children have little to no swimming ability. According to the CDC, drowning is the second-leading cause of accidental death for children 14 years and younger. This partnership with SwimWays creates new avenues to promote the importance of learning to swim and general safety in and around the water.
