Indianapolis Colts and Pacers Sports & Entertainment Named Centennial Partners of USA Swimming
by USA Swimming
USA Swimming, the national governing body (NGB) for the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced that both the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers Sports & Entertainment have signed on as Centennial Partners in support of the NGB at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming.
"Receiving support from the Colts, Pacers and Fever shows that athletes and staff who perform at the highest level recognize and lift each other up,” said USA Swimming CEO and President Tim Hinchey. "We appreciate these incredible organizations for investing in bringing the best swimmers in the world to Indianapolis. And we promise a show at the stadium unlike any other!”
“By becoming Centennial Partners, the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers Sports & Entertainment continue to showcase their commitment to the sports strategy here in Indianapolis and their belief in our mission at Indiana Sports Corp,” said Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty. “Their support will be vital in accomplishing our goal of hosting this unique, nine-day event that will leave a lasting impact on our community. I cannot thank them enough for being such great community partners.”
The Olympic Trials, to be held June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, is the only qualifying meet to name the 2024 Olympic Team heading to Paris in July. To produce a swim meet of this magnitude, USA Swimming and the Indiana Sports Corporation rely on local businesses to offer financial and operational assistance. Becoming a Centennial Partner allows companies to activate a global event locally. The term Centennial Partner harkens back to the 1924 Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, when that Olympic team traveled to Paris. A full century later, the Olympic team will again be named in Indianapolis and sent to Paris.
“Indiana has a rich history and tradition both with the Olympics and swimming, and we are thrilled that as all eyes will be on the best swimmers in the world,” said Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Rick Fuson. “Indy will have the chance to once again shine a spotlight on what makes our city and state special.”
“The Olympic Swimming Trials are yet another feather in the cap of Indianapolis when it comes to attracting and hosting the top events in the world,” said Colts Vice Chair and Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon. “The Indianapolis Colts are thrilled to partner with USA Swimming and Indiana Sports Corp to celebrate 100 years of Olympic events in our city and to make the 2024 Trials the best and most successful ever.”
All Centennial Partners receive consideration with ticketing, hospitality, and brand recognition for their contributions to learn to swim programs and the conduct of the Trials. Partnership opportunities are still available by contacting Mike Karnuta (mkarnuta@indianasportscorp.org) or Jim Fox (jfox@usaswimming.org)
