Applications Open for 2023-24 Scholastic All-America Program

USA Swimming today announced the applications are open for the 2023-24 Scholastic All-America (SAA) program. The application window is June 1-September 6, 2024 and step-by-step directions can be found here.
Applicants must have completed 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade, hold a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year and meet the below criteria for pool swimmers, open water swimmers, or swimmers with disabilities. If an athlete competes in more than one category (e.g.: pool and open water), only one completed application is necessary.
Applicants must be active USA Swimming members in good standing with validated times in SWIMS that were achieved as a member of USA Swimming during the qualifying period of September 1, 2023-August 31, 2024. Applications must include the applicant’s 2023-24 complete academic year transcript. Report/grade cards will not be accepted.
Pool Swimmers: Applicants must have swum an individual pool race time equal to or faster than the 2023 Winter Junior National qualifying time standard in any individual event during the SAA qualifying period.
Open Water Swimmers: Applicants must have swum an individual pool race time equal to or faster than the 2023 Winter Junior National qualifying time in the 800m, 1000m, 1500m or 1650y freestyle during the SAA qualifying period. Additionally, applicants must have participated in the Open Water National Championships held May 3-5, 2024. If an applicant wishes to be recognized as an open water swimmer, the applicant must select that on the application.
Swimmers with Disabilities: Applicants must have swum an individual pool time equal to or faster than the 2023-24 Para Scholastic All-America Standards in any individual event noted within their self-reported P1, P2, or P3 grouping during the SAA qualifying period. A cap of 56 athletes will be named with two per event and gender.
In 2022-23, more than 1,100 athletes met the SAA criteria, with the highest numbers coming from the North Carolina Swimming Local Swimming Committee (112 athletes). Perfect scores, awarded to event champions with a 4.0 GPA, were both earned by Sandpipers of Nevada swimmers. Katie Grimes (Las Vegas, Nevada/Sandpipers of Nevada) won the women’s 400m I.M. and Claire Weinstein (White Plains, N.Y./Sandpipers of Nevada) won the 200m freestyle, both at the 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships. Grimes also won the women’s 5k and 10k at the 2023 Open Water National Championships.
