USA Swimming announced Torri Huske (Arlington, Va./Arlington Aquatic Club) and Bobby Finke (Clearwater, Fla./Gator Swim Club) took home Female and Male Athlete of the Year honors, and Todd DeSorbo was awarded Coach of the Year at the 21st annual Golden Goggle Awards. Recognized for their accomplishments at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Huske brought home five medals, and Finke brought home two. DeSorbo, head coach of the women’s Olympic team, earned his recognition from the astonishing 19 total individual and relay medals collected by the women’s team in Paris. The Swiss watchmaker OMEGA, a longstanding partner of USA Swimming, presented a selection of watches to the three winners.

The Golden Goggle Awards are USA Swimming’s annual celebration of the year’s top accomplishments by American swimmers and coaches, with this year’s focus on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. USA Swimming finished the competition with 28 medals – 10 more than any other country – three world records, five Olympic records, and six American records. Throughout the evening, individuals from across the country participated in a live auction, where proceeds directly benefit the USA Swimming Foundation’s mission of Saving Lives, Building Champions, and Impacting Communities.

Huske had an outstanding 2024 Paris Olympic Games, earning three gold and two silver medals to tie with teammate Regan Smith (Lakeville, Minn./Longhorn Aquatics) for the most medals on the American team. At the Golden Goggle Awards, she also earned honors for Female Race of the Year (Women’s 100m butterfly) and Relay Performance of the Year (Women’s 4x100m medley relay) with teammates Lilly King (Evansville, Ind./Indiana Swim Club), Smith, and Gretchen Walsh (Nashville, Tenn./University of Virginia). Huske was presented with a Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades timepiece in stainless steel. The 38 mm design is notable for its Atlantic Blue dial, which is lacquered and sun-brushed from the center.

In his second Olympic Games, Finke added a gold and silver medal to his swimming resume. After securing silver in the men’s 800m freestyle, Finke brought home gold in the men’s 1500m freestyle on the final day of competition. His swim also secured back-to-back Olympic golds and a new world record in the event. Finke was rewarded with a Seamaster Aqua Terra in stainless steel. The 41 mm watch is a superb tribute to OMEGA’s ocean heritage, and features a grey rubber strap and a blue dial with “teak” stripes inspired by the decks of luxury sailboats.

"Thank you to Team USA, the USA Swimming Foundation, USA Swimming, my parents, and my girlfriend,” said Bobby Finke. “They have all helped me get to where I am today. Also, my teammates – I was joking around with Kieran (Smith) that he’d be up here for the Greatest Roommate Award. Training with Katie Ledecky has driven me to this very moment and being with Caeleb Dressel every day as well. Going back and forth in kick sets with Emma Weyant. Having Jake Mitchell beat my butt every day in practice. Of course, my coaches too – Anthony Nesty and Whitney (Hite) is also here. My club coach, Fred – I'm just naming everybody. There are so many people I want to thank.”

As one of USA Swimming’s Olympic head coaches, DeSorbo helped shape the trajectory of the women’s team and helped bring home 19 medals, including six gold. In addition to his work on the international stage, DeSorbo is the head men and women’s coach at the University of Virginia, where the women have repeated as NCAA champions for four years. Of the 19 medals earned by the USA Swimming women, nine were claimed by his University of Virginia swimmers. DeSorbo was also rewarded with the same Seamaster Aqua Terra model.

“First, I just want to acknowledge all of the nominees - I’m in constant awe of them,” said Todd DeSorbo. “Especially Katie Ledecky, no one does it like you, and you are the greatest of all time. I’m in shock at how much you’ve accomplished and how hard you work. It’s been amazing to watch that. Also, I want to thank my family; my mom and my dad, it was my mom’s birthday yesterday so special shoutout to her. She’s instilled bounds of hard work in me and she’s a big part of the reason that I am who I am today. I’m just so grateful for them. Also, my club coach, Evan Stiles. He made it possible for me to go to my first Olympics and to go to Stanford, and I just wanted to thank him for that.”

Since 1932, OMEGA has served as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games. In their support of American athletes, OMEGA has awarded specialty watches to notable athletes and coaches at the USA Swimming Golden Goggle Awards since 2007.
