by USA Swimming
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – On the final evening of the 2025 TYR Pro Swim Series Sacramento international competition was strong, but USA Swimming athletes turned in a series of top ten world performances to close out the meet. Grant House (Maineville, Ohio/Sun Devil Aquatics) got the crowd behind him and turned in an impressive victory in the men’s 200-meter individual medley. House’s 1:58.22 was the sixth fastest time in the world this year, giving him the title by almost two seconds.
In the women’s 200m backstroke, training partners Rhyan White (Herriman, Utah/Wolfpack Elite) and Leah Shackley (Bedford, Pa./NC State University) took the top two spots, claiming top ten times in the world. White’s 2:08.83 was a season-best time and added to her victory in the 100m backstroke earlier in the meet.

It’s been a little different this season, a lot of different stuff with health and many personal aspects going through it. The pool really helps me stay on what I want to focus on and just be my best self. It’s always nice to feel alive when I’m swimming.”
House on his advice for kids in the sport: “In the sport of swimming, we focus a lot on what we need to improve. I think that’s really important, but really lean on your strengths, what you’re good at, and help others elevate themselves. Once you get to the competition, that’s not the time to worry about making too many adjustments, just be your best self and lean into your strengths.”
